Research Support Building, Joseph W. Jones Ecological Research Center
Location: Newton, Georgia
Client: Joseph W. Jones Ecological Research Center
LRA Constructors, Inc. (LRA) served as General Contractor for the Jones Center project which consisted of renovations and additions to the existing Research Support Building, which LRA previously constructed in 1995. The unique project utilized native Ichauway pine from the center’s forest management program. Ichauway is the 29,000-acre outdoor laboratory of the Joseph W. Jones Ecological Research Center. The Robert W. Woodruff Foundation provides the core financial support for the Jones Center programs and facilities. The Jones Center was named in honor of Joseph W. Jones, former senior vice-president of The Coca-Cola Company, Woodruff's longtime associate, and chairman emeritus of the Woodruff Foundation. LRA also previously constructed the center’s standalone laboratory building and provided renovations to the Ichauway Bridge.
